Ian Bordenave
Ian Bordenave is a Field Biologist with the First Wind program. He graduated from the University of Idaho in 2002 with a B.S. in Environmental Science. Prior to joining First Wind in May, 2006, Ian worked in both the private and public sectors for a wide range of organizations, including InterMountain Resources of Sandpoint, Idaho, Terra Science of Portland, Oregon, the University of Idaho, the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho Fisheries and Wildlife Program, and the Maui Invasive Species Committee.

Mike Goodwin
Mike Goodwin has 29 years of experience in the construction, energy and power sectors. He has owned and worked for engineering and construction firms in both Europe and the U.S. where he developed strong project management skills. Mike is currently responsible for First Wind’s development activities in Hawaii, where he lives with his wife and children in Pukalani. Mike received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 1978 from Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam, New York.

Mike Gresham
Mike Gresham is currently Vice President of First Wind, managing the company’s new project development in the State of Hawaii. Previously, Mike was President of Makani Nui Associates, LLC, the Maui based partner for development, financing and construction of the 30 MW Kaheawa Wind Project. Prior to joining the Kaheawa Wind team, Mike held the position of Founder, President and CEO off the California based company NextWeb and was the President and General Manager of the Wireless Interconnect division of Glenayre Electronics, then a NASDAQ 100 company. A resident of Maui, Mr. Gresham holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the College of Notre Dame. |

Jesse Johnston
Jesse Johnston attended the College of San Mateo in California and completed a course of study in Administration of Justice. Prior to moving to Maui in 2004, Jesse worked for Pacific Gas and Electric as a Quality Assurance inspector for a PUC mandated home weatherization program. Jesse has been involved with Kaheawa Wind since pre-construction, working for Makani Nui to ensure the impact of the construction activity to the local Nene goose population was kept to a minimum. Since Kaheawa Wind has become operational, Jesse has been First Wind’s Balance of Plant Manager.

D. Noelani Kalipi
D. Noelani (Noe) Kalipi was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii and is a graduate of Hilo High School. She graduated with a B.A. in Government & Politics/Economics from George Mason University, received a J.D. from the National Law Center at George Washington University and is licensed to practice law in Hawaii and the District of Columbia. Noe served in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and worked in various capacities for Senator Daniel K. Akaka. She is currently the Director of Government & Community Relations for First Wind, and is responsible for coordinating First Wind’s activities with officials at all levels of government. Noe works closely with communities to help promote the understanding of the benefits of wind energy.

Miguel Rosales
Miguel Rosales has 10 years of experience in the wind industry, joining First Wind in 2006 as the Western Regional Operations Manager and Acting Operations Manager for Kaheawa Wind. Miguel’s duties include administration of PPA, administration of Warranty Agreement with GE Wind and Administration of Balance of Plant. Prior to joining First Wind, Miguel worked for enXco Service Corp where he performed supervisory, technical support and quality control tasks. Miguel has also worked for Plantas Eolicas SRL, a 22MW wind farm in Costa Rica, Central America as a plant manager and site supervisor.

Gregory Spencer
Greg Spencer, Senior Biologist, joined the First Wind team in late 2005 and presently oversees implementation of the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) for Kaheawa Wind. His work focuses on ensuring protection and mitigation directed at the endangered Hawaiian Goose (Nene), Hawaiian Petrel, Hawaiian Hoary Bat, and the threatened Newell’s Shearwater; each of these species is federally protected under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Prior to joining First Wind, Greg worked extensively in research directed at aspects of the ecology of seabirds and pinnipeds in Alaska. He has extensive research experience with seabirds elsewhere, including Hawaii, Antarctica and along the West Coast of North America. He studied Fisheries Management at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington and Marine Ecology at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

Wren Wescoatt
Wren Wescoatt is a Development Specialist for First Wind. Raised on the island of Molokai, Wren attended Kamehameha Schools, received a B.A. in Communication from Stanford University and a M.A. in Education from the University of North Carolina. The founder of College Connections Hawaii, he spent the past eight years managing a statewide nonprofit organization. Wren now lives on Oahu and facilitates community outreach and communications for First Wind's new projects in Hawaii.
